Home care guide
Rules for cleaning carpets
Regular care and prompt stain treatment help protect carpet fibres.

Regular care
Vacuum according to the fibre type and manufacturer’s instructions. Adjust the attachment and suction to protect the surface. Keep fringes away from rotating brushes and clean them gently using an approved method.
Fresh spills
Blot liquid promptly with a clean white cloth without vigorous rubbing. Choose a cleaner intended for your carpet, such as a compatible Sano Carpet variant. Test colourfastness in a hidden spot first. Follow the label for dose, contact time and residue removal. Do not soak the carpet or backing.
Product choice and drying
Do not use laundry detergent or clothing pre-treatment on carpet unless that use is expressly permitted. Ask the supplier for guidance on wool, silk, natural dyes and handwoven rugs. After approved cleaning, allow full drying and ventilation before use.
Chewing gum and wax
Check the method for your specific carpet before treating sticky or hardened residue. Do not cut fibres or scrape forcefully. Do not apply an iron or other direct heat based on a general timing rule. Ask a carpet-cleaning professional about wax and residue that will not release gently.
Occasional deep cleaning
Adapt frequency to use, condition and manufacturer guidance. If routine care cannot remove a stain or odour, choose a professional method suitable for both the fibres and backing.
